Hi, my name is Tilly Treuren and I was born and raised in the Netherlands, but I call coastal Santa Barbara my home. I attended the Art Academy in Rotterdam where I received a formal education in fine art, which created a foundation for my evolving style. From an early age I loved drawing and painting, but truly blossomed as an artist after my move to California as an adult, and then on to the French Riviera and then back to Santa Barbara.

My love for (intense) sunlight is reflected in my use of color. I am always experimenting with new techniques and unusual color combinations. My intuition guides me on how to capture the energy of a field of flowers, a burro in a field, or a bouquet of flowers. I mainly paints animals and flowers, and love portraiture, as well

I find great joy and comfort in painting flowers and animals, especially in the last couple of years, they are beautiful, colorful and they touch my emotions. I aspire to elevate the senses and lift you, the viewer to a place where life is less complicated and more nourishing. Painting is where I express my deepest joy, which I hope is felt by you.
